Weekly skills checklist
Practice tasks for every week, with space for instructor verification.
A little practice. A clear process. A stronger clinical foundation.
Follow your lab manual, prepare for each week, and learn to explain what you see.

Patient care comes first.
Every tracing tells part of the story.
Self-checks saved on this browser. Instructor verification is separate.
Aligned with your UT100C EKG Lab Manual.
Select a week to open lessons and lab expectations.
Illustrative simulations for pattern recognition.
Not patient tracings or diagnostic measurements.
6-second schematic · equivalent time scale: 25 mm/s · waveform shape is simplified
Regular rhythm only · 25 mm/s
Study the supplied tracings, then explain the evidence.
Some images already include teaching annotations.
Original teaching image from the supplied Cardiac Rhythms document. Screen resizing is not a clinical calibration; verify paper speed, gain, and lead before calculating measurements. Embedded annotations may reveal the answer.
Use your instructor’s printed tracings to measure consistently.
Watch caliper demonstration ↗Opens in SharePoint. Access depends on the video’s sharing permissions; an HDMC/Microsoft sign-in may be required.
Print blank forms. Use de-identified practice records.
Follow your instructor’s submission requirements.
Practice tasks for every week, with space for instructor verification.
Ten entries for blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, oxygen saturation, and pain.
A repeatable framework covering all nine analysis components and your interpretation.
Compare all acquired tracings and prepare your final presentation and Blackboard upload.
The uploaded UT100C EKG Lab Manual determines weekly expectations. Week 4 explicitly lists 10 vital signs and one to two EKGs; confirm how entries should be counted with your instructor. Completed lab documents require instructor sign-off before Blackboard upload.
Knowledge review, focused practice, and a study plan.
Based on your guide and CCI’s published outline.
Original educational practice questions—not official CCI exam items or an endorsed review course. Checked October 9, 2026. Check CCI for updates before applying.
CCI lists a two-hour appointment: 110 minutes answering plus 10 minutes for tutorial/survey; 110 scored and 20 unscored items. This shorter review does not replicate the full exam or predict a passing scaled score.
Self-check each topic you can explain and apply. Saved only on this browser; separate from your weekly lab progress.
Review every domain or focus on one. Submit answers to see explanations and domain results.
Share your planned exam, completed exam, or result.
A report is a student update, not credential verification.
Automatic submission and saved reporting are pending setup. For now, preview your report and open a prepared email to the designated instructors/directors. You must send the message in your email app.
Reports are self-reported. Official CCI results and credential verification remain the authoritative records. Your report preview is not stored in browser storage or a public student list.
Use the checklist to find gaps. Give rhythm analysis the most study time, followed by 12-lead analysis, while reviewing all six domains. Revisit missed questions after reviewing the topic and explain your reasoning aloud.
Open 30 rhythm examples →Compare staged treadmill protocols, exercise and pharmacological modalities, baseline assessment, monitoring, stopping criteria, and recovery. Medication preparation and caffeine restrictions depend on the ordered protocol—follow clinician instructions.
Read stress testing guidance ↗Know continuous Holter recording versus event-based monitoring and telemetry. Practice explaining symptom diaries, event marking, skin care, device-specific water restrictions, battery checks, and when to seek urgent clinical help.
Read Holter monitoring guidance ↗Review atrial, ventricular, and dual-chamber pacing; capture versus sensing; and common drug effects. Beta blockers may slow rate/AV conduction, ACE inhibitors reduce angiotensin-mediated effects, and antiarrhythmics vary by class and can alter intervals.
Review cardiac pacemakers ↗The official CCI self-assessment currently costs $55, is one use per purchase, and reports domain performance without missed-item explanations. It should be one part of preparation. For broader reading, use CCI’s recommended-text list and your course textbook, EKG manual, and rhythm handout. Review eligibility and supporting documentation before applying; coursework or practice completion does not automatically establish eligibility.
